Porcelain Veneers in Richardson
Body language is a silent tool of communication that can speak volumes. From eye contact to arm position to your stance, you communicate that you are friendly, assertive, protective and much more. Of course, your smile is a strong tool of communication. However, some people are so embarrassed or ashamed about the condition of their teeth, they keep them concealed behind a tight-lipped smile, which can miscommunicate rejection. Dr. Nguyen at Brick Row Dentistry in Richardson can make sure your smile is worth sharing. Porcelain veneers correct a variety of cosmetic imperfections that may be keeping you from honest communication.
What Are Porcelain Veneers?
Whether they are called porcelain veneers, dental veneers or just veneers, these dental wonders can take your smile from unsightly to unbelievable in just two appointments! They are made out of top quality dental porcelain or composite resin. Both materials are somewhat translucent so the finish on your new smile looks as natural as that on your real teeth. In addition, a veneer can be designed to improve the color, shape or size of a tooth. Veneers are individually hand crafted in a dental lab so you can be certain each one is appropriate for a specific tooth. Your smile will be just right for you and the unique measurements of your mouth and your own facial features.
Porcelain Veneers with Richardson Dentist Dr. Nguyen
The road to a new smile begins with a consultation between you and Dr. Nguyen. In addition to discussing the changes you want to see happen to your teeth, the Richardson dentist will also examine your teeth and gums to make sure they are in good condition before your cosmetic treatment begins.
We’ll take digital x-rays, photos and molded impressions of your teeth. Dr. Nguyen will use these to design veneers that look beautiful and feel comfortable in your mouth. Then, a slim layer of tooth enamel is removed to make room for the veneers. This step is a necessity to ensure that your new teeth don’t look too large or jut out unnaturally.
In addition, this step slightly roughens the surface of your teeth in order to create a stronger adhesion.
At this point, we’ll take another impression of your prepared teeth so that we can give you a temporary set of veneers to wear for a couple of weeks while your permanent and personalized set are created in the lab. When these arrive in our office, Dr. Nguyen will remove the temporaries and check to make sure each veneer is perfect before bonding them into place.
